• Hendersonville campus receives gift from Chamber Foundation
• Dr. Mike Shackleford and Dr. Charles Lea receive Chamber Foundation gift to support the Leadership Academy for Sumner County Schools. Presenting the check is Michelle Owens, Chamber Board chair and Brenda Payne, Chamber CEO.

• Beginning June 2012, Union will offer a new concentration in Instruction Leadership which prepares candidates for administrative licensure. In addition the current Teaching and Learning concentration has been revised to reflect current Race to the Top student progress and teacher evaluation issues. Earn either degree in only 14 months with a redesign to include fewer Saturday sessions. • Union University Hendersonville to launch accelerated BSN degree
• Union University Hendersonville will begin offering the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the spring of 2012 with an initial cohort of about 25 students.
• The 15-month program is designed for students who already have a bachelor's degree in another field, or for those who have completed two years of college and are at least 24 years of age. Union will admit an accelerated BSN cohort in the spring and the fall each year.
