LYNCH, EVANS NAMED TO NEW POSITIONS

In an effort to better serve Union University alumni and friends, the office of institutional advancement (formerly the office of development) has recently restructured.
Louise Lynch, '64, former director of alumni affairs, has been named director of annual giving. Lynch, a Union staff member since 1964, will be responsible for fund-raising efforts targeting alumni, businesses, parents and friends of the university. Prior to becoming director of alumni affairs in 1985, Lynch served as manager of the university's bookstore for 12 years.

"After many years of focusing on alumni events and activities, this is a natural move toward meeting the needs of alumni and other friends on a larger scale," Lynch says. "I will be available to assist alumni in achieving their dreams for Union, whether it be through annual gifts, endowed chairs or memorial scholarships. The possibilities are limitless!"

Sheri Evans, '95, former assistant director of alumni affairs, was promoted to director of alumni services. Evans will coordinate all alumni programming and projects, including homecoming and reunions, alumni student recruitment efforts, local and regional alumni chapters, and related efforts. She joined the advancement staff in 1995 after completing a bachelor of science at Union.

"Union University has been blessed with outstanding professionals in the advancement field," Michael Duduit, Union's executive vice president, said. "The reassignments we are making will enable these staff members to achieve even more on behalf of the University."

In addition to the above changes, Tommy Sadler, '76, previously director of corporate support, has been named associate athletic director. The creation of this new position demonstrates the growth and success of Union's athletic program. Sadler, who joined the university in 1986, will serve in an administrative role, with primary emphasis on athletic fund-raising. He holds a bachelor of science from Union and a master of education from the University of Memphis.
