Mathematics at Union

The department offers a major in mathematics and minors in mathematics, mathematics with emphasis in statistics, and actuarial science. Students majoring in mathematics may select from the following tracks: mathematics, teacher licensure in mathematics for secondary education (grades 7-12), or actuarial science. The offerings of the major provide a foundation for beginning graduate study in mathematics, for entry into mathematics-related work fields, and for teaching mathematics at the secondary level.

Mathematics
A degree in mathematics at Union provides a solid core of mathematics classes, while retaining the flexibility needed to allow you to choose classes to prepare for graduate school, teaching secondary mathematics, or to begin an actuarial career or other mathematics-related career. You may also seek a mathematics degree to develop critical thinking and reasoning skills for careers such as law, medicine, or optometry.
