Bulldog Basketball vs. Sanford-Brown College (Mo.)

The Union University Bulldogs continued their hot shooting as they defeated Sanford-Brown College 111-36 in the second and final day of the Missouri Baptist University Classic. In the past two games, Union has scored a total of 235 points. Union improved to 8-4 on the season and Sanford-Brown falls to 1-9.

The Bulldogs were led with four players in double figures led Chima Abakwue with 27. Abakwue made 7 of 17 three points following a 10 of 11 performance the night before. Michael Palmer and Matt Trammell added 20 points apiece and Derrick Underwood scored 13. Palmer and Underwood each tallied a double-double in the game with Palmer grabbing 10 rebounds to go with his 20 points and Underwood tallied a game-high 13 rebounds. For Sanford Brown, Jermaine Gardner led with 13 points, nine of which came in the first half.

Union led 55-13 at the half over Sanford Brown. On the game, the Bulldogs shot 47% from the field including 37% (14-38) from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs are done until after Christmas when they host Williams Baptist College on Thursday, January 9 at 8:00 p.m.
