The Union University Bulldogs ended their regular season with a 66-64 loss at Cumberland. Union falls to 17-14 overall and they finish 5-9 in the TranSouth. Cumberland moves to 15-17 for the season and a final mark of 5-9 in the conference. Both teams will begin the conference tournament next Thursday, March 13 on the road.
Cumberland led Union 35-33 at halftime mostly due to their 8-of-14 (.571) shooting from behind the arc. Union rallied and led by as many as six points in the second half, but couldn't hold on as the home team took the win.
Union was led by Derrick Underwood and Will Harris with 14 points apiece. Michael Palmer scored 12 points and Chima Abakwue added 11 points. Cumberland was paced by Jeremy Lewis with 13 points on 3-of-3 shooting from behind the arc. Quasean Nicholson added 12 points.
