Union University remained unbeaten in TranSouth Conference play with their 81-60 win over Lee University. Union goes to 17-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. Lee falls to to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in the TranSouth.
For the second straight game, Union jumped out to a commanding first half lead. The Lady Bulldogs led 51-28 at the break and held on for the 21 point win. Union was led by senior forward Tashekia Brown with a season high 17. Ginger Byrant tallied a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Jessica Henson and Miriam Wandanda added 13 and 10 points respectively. For Lee, Holly Hamilton recorded a double-double of her own with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Stacey Moss and Courtney Hindman added 12 and 11 points.
This win for Union extended their current home winning streak to 17. Union will travel to Blue Mountain on Monday, Jan. 20 for a 7:00 p.m. conference battle. Their next home game will be on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6:00 p.m. versus Trevecca.
