Before Union: Pittman prepped at Milan (Tenn.) High School where he played three seasons of golf. He helped lead his team to the district and region titles in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, Pittman finished 20th in the state tournament individually, helping his team to a fifth place finish overall. Pittman was named all-district and posted the lowest scoring average as a senior. He was named all-district and Most Improved, while also posting the lowest scoring average as a junior. Pittman had a 36.4 scoring average as a senior and set a new school record by shooting a 5-under 31 on nine holes. Off the course, Pittman was a member of the Beta Club.
