Steven Aldridge is a native of Myrtle, Mississippi where he graduated in 1994 from Myrtle High School. In December of 1998, he graduated from Union University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management/Marketing emphasis. In May of 2008, Aldridge completed his M.A.Ed. from Union University.
Since earning his master's degree in 2008, he has began teaching as an instructor in the Sports Management/Marketing department, He is also a co-sponsor for the Physical Education, Wellness and Sport academic organization, Sigma Delta.
Before graduating from Union, an internship in 1997 turned into a full time job with the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (Double-A baseball club in Jackson, Tenn.). In February of 1998, he was named the Box Office Manager and later added Events Manager to his duties during his three years with the club.
In September of 2000, Aldridge returned to his Alma Mater to begin work in his current occupation as the Sports Information Director. During his time as the Union SID, he has been named the TranSouth Conference SID of the Year three times (2006, 2007, 2009). He has also won 37 publication awards including the NAIA's top website in 2003 and 2007, a first place men's soccer brochure in 2008 and a first place award in the feature story writing contest. Aldridge has been the TranSouth Baseball SID since 2001 and Cross Country SID since 2004. He has also served as TranSouth Softball SID and has worked as the Media Coordinator for the NAIA women's basketball and softball national tournaments. In June of 2009, Aldridge was selected to serve as an NAIA-SIDA officer as the one-year at-large.
In addition to his duties as SID, Aldridge also does Union sports play-by-play on a fill-in basis. He co-hosted a local high school football radio show from 2001-2006. Aldridge also did color commentary for the inaugural West Tennessee High School Baseball All-Star Classic on local television in June of 2008. He spent 2008-09 doing color commentary for Trinity Christian Academy football and basketball games, occasionally filling in as the play-by-play person. In 2009, Aldridge started as the football play-by-play voice for the University School of Jackson.
Aldridge was married in 2004 to his wife Stacy. They reside in Jackson, Tennessee with their daughter Haley and son Justin.
