Jackson, TN—Union’s sophomore center from Bartlett, TN,
Allison Harrison, was named the women’s TranSouth Player of the
Week. Harrison helped lead Union to victories in all three games
on the week, including a win over cross town rival, Lambuth in
which she scored 12 points and grabbed three rebounds. In the
Berry game she scored 24 points and added nine rebounds and four
blocks, and in the win over Lee, she tallied 20 points and six
rebounds. On the week, she totaled 56 points, 18 rebounds, four
blocks, and two assist. Union’s record in now 14-3 on the season
and 2-0 in the TranSouth conference.
Anthony Brooks, a senior from Bethel Springs, was named the
TranSouth Player of the Week. Brooks scored over 30 points twice
including his career high 39 vs. Williams Baptist College. In the
three games last week, Brooks scored 85 points, grabbed 28
rebounds, along with 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. The 6-10
center for the Bulldogs shot 73 percent from the field, 67 percent
from the free throw line, and a very impressive 58 percent from
behind the arc. Brooks lead the conference in scoring with 24.2
points per game. He also is second in the conference in rebounding
with 8.0 per game. Brooks’ teammate, Moreno leads in rebounding
with 9.47 per game. He is second in the conference in field goal
percentage (.660). The Bulldogs are now 12-5 on the season and 1-1
in the conference.
