Lauren Hayden , a junior from Bellville, IL, was featured in the January 8 issue of Sports Illustrated.  Hayden appeared in the faces in the crowd section for her amazing season in which she set a new NAIA record for kills in a career. The old record was 2728 by Tara Seiter of Mount Vernon Nazerene in Ohio. Hayden broke and surpassed the mark during the NAIA Region XI Tournament. She has a total of 2747, and this is only her junior. Hayden will continue to add to her total during the 2001 season. Her 950 kills this year are the third best season in NAIA history.  She currently holds the No. 1 position NAIA for kills in a season.
