Jackson, TN—Senior center, Anthony Brooks was named to
the NAIA All-American team. Brooks, a native of Bethel
Springs, was selected to the first team after his record
breaking senior season for the Bulldogs. Brooks finished the
season averaging 24.7 points per game, which put him third in
the nation in scoring. He led Union in scoring 30 of their 36
games, while 11 times scoring 30 points or more. During the
season, Brooks set seven school records, including breaking a
16-year-old record by scoring 49 points is a game. He also set
the record for points in a season (889), scoring average
(24.7), blocks in a season (86), blocks in a career (256),
field goal attempts in a game (26), and field goal attempts in
a season (578).
Brooks adds this honor to his long list of achievements
this season, including being named the TranSouth Conference
Player of the Year. Brooks finished the season averaging 24.7
points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game, 2.4 blocks per game.
He lead the TranSouth is scoring and three-point percentage
with his .425 average (62-146). He finished second in the
conference in rebounding behind teammate Enelio Moreno.
