Wilsford, a senior from Collierville,
TN was named the TranSouth Player of the Week. Wilsford helped
lead the Bulldogs to a 5-0 week as he went 10 for 20 at the
plate for a .500 average. In a 13-5
win over crosstown rival
Lambuth, Wilford went 2 for 3 with a double and homerun.
Wilsford tallied seven runs, three doubles, one triple, two
homeruns, and nine RBI. Blake also added a walk and a stolen
base during the week. On the season, Wilsford is hitting .367
(36-98) with 21 runs, 11 doubles, one triple, six homeruns,
and 31 RBI.
The Bulldogs are now 20-11 on the season and 8-4 in the
TranSouth Conference. Union has won six games in a row and 12
of their last 14. They have pulled back into the mix after a
slow start. Union is now third in the conference standings
behind Birmingham Southern and Berry College. The Bulldogs
will travel to Berry College GA this weekend for a pivotal
conference series. Tonight, the Bulldogs will host Missouri
Baptist College out of St. Louis at 7:00 PM and again on
Wednesday for a 1:00 PM double-header.
