Jackson, TN—Junior Lauren Hayden was named the TranSouth
Conference Player of the Week and the Region XI Player of the
Week. Hayden earns these two honors for the second time this
season. Lauren Hayden in leading the conference in kills per
game with 5.77. She also leads the conference in defense with
4.54 digs per game. In games, she recorded 97 kills and 73
digs. Hayden had double-figure kills and digs in all five
matches and also tallied seven aces and eight blocks.
Sophomore, Liz Travis earned TranSouth Conference Setter of
the Week. In 18 games she recorded 196 assists, averaging
10.88 per game. Travis also tallied 41 digs, seven aces, and
seven kills.
Travis and Hayden helped lead the Union Volleyball team to
a 4-1 record for the week with the Lady Bulldogs’ only loss
coming to ninth ranked Georgetown College. Union’s overall
record is 15-2 and 2-0 in the conference.
