Player NCCAA Goalkeeper of the Week
Jackson, TN —Jeff Lean, a sophomore from
Vancouver, Canada, was named NCCAA Goalkeeper of the Week. On the
week, Lean allowed just two goals in two games as he help Union in
two TranSouth Conference victories over Freed Hardeman University
and Lipscomb University, both by the score of 5-1. For the year,
Lean has only given up 7 goals in 11 games played and has 6
shutouts to his credit. Lean also holds Union’s record for save
percentage currently at 85.7%.
On the season, Union University is now 11-3
overall and 4-2 in the TranSouth Conference. The Bulldogs are on
the verge of clinching their first postseason in the conference
tournament with the chance to move on the NAIA Nationals. Union
will be home this weekend as the Bulldogs will host the Boise Cup
2000 beginning on Friday.
