Lady Bulldog Volleyball
Players Receive Multiple Honors
Jackson, TN—Union University
teamates Lauren Hayden and Liz Travis were named the TranSouth
Conference and Region XI player and setter of the week,
respectively. Hayden and Travis led Union to a runner-up finish in
the Missouri Baptist Tournament, with their only loss coming to
the host team, #17 Missouri Baptist. The Lady Bulldogs went 4-1 on
the week to improve their record to 23-4 overall and 5-1 in the
conference, which puts them first place in the TranSouth with 4
conference games to play. Union ranks 2nd the NAIA
Region XI play.
Lauren Hayden, a junior from Belleville, IL,
averaged 6.18 kills and 3.93 digs per game in five matches last
week. She also served up 12 aces and four block-assists. Lauren
leads the TranSouth in kills per game with 5.90 and also in
defense with 4.42 digs per game. In addition, Hayden was named the
NCCAA player of the week. She leads the NCCAA in kills per game.
Sophomore Liz Travis, tallied 182 assists
(11.37 avg.) along with 51 digs and seven kills for the Lady
Bulldogs.
