Jackson, TN—Union University added one of the top area
runners to their cross country program with the signing of Janelle
Royer. Coach Gary Johnson of Union says, "Janelle is, and was
all season, our top choice if we could sign any one from West
Tennessee. She displays a very humble, Christ-like attitude and
will add quality to our cross country program, as well as, our
school." Johnson adds, "Janelle has been coached very
well at Trinity and I pray she will continue to grow as an athlete
and a person during her years with us."
Royer will be joining former teammate, Chris Winter, who is
already attending Union and will be part of the Men’s cross
country program which will begin competing next fall. Johnson
says, "I hope all the top area runners will choose Union,
that is definitely a goal of mine, to attract runners like Cameron
Groll, Jill Konkol, Shannon Rudd Andy Metcalf, Ami Joglekar, Anna
Winter and the list could go on. Memphis and West Tennessee have
produced some of the top talent in the state; my job will be
getting them to come to Union University.
