Union Volleyball Player Named NAIA All-American
Jackson, TN—Lauren
Hayden added one more award to her career season. Hayden, a junior
from Bellville, IL, was named NAIA All-American. This award comes
after being named to the All-Region team. All-Conference,
All-Region in both NAIA and NCCAA, NCCAA Mid East region player of
the year, and NCCAA All-American are some of the other awards
Hayden has collected this season.
Lauren Hayden has also set a new NAIA record for kills in a
career. The old record was 2728 by Tara Seiter of Mount Vernon
Nazerene in Ohio. Hayden broke and surpassed the mark during the
NAIA Region XI Tournament. She has a total of 2747, and this is
only her junior. Hayden will continue to add to her total during
the 2001 season. Her 950 kills this year are the third best season
in NAIA history.
