Union Softball Signs Ripley’s Edwards to Scholarship

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/11/2007 - The Union University Lady Bulldog softball has added an early recruit for the 2008-09 season. Hailee Edwards will join Union next fall after her graduation from Ripley High School in May of 2008.

Edwards, a 5-foot-6 pitcher/outfielder, is from Ripley, Tennessee, where she played softball and was a cheerleader for four seasons. Over her first three years in high school softball, she was named All-District twice, Best Offense, and was selected as Team Captain. Edwards hit .475 as a junior and posted a 0.93 ERA on the mound. In Cheerleading, Edwards was named Team Captain and was also a two-time VCA All-Star. Off the field, Edwards continued her successes as she was a member of the Beta Club, SCA, Class President, and HOSA Secretary.

Edwards is the daughter of Frank and Lisa Edwards of Ripley, Tennessee. She played softball for Coach J.R. Kirby and cheered for Coach Stephanie Bolton.
