JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/6/2008 - The Union University sporting events scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (February 7-9) have been postponed. A damaging tornado hit Union's campus on Tuesday evening, leaving behind major damage to the student housing and other buildings.
Also, the double-header basketball games on Monday, February 11 versus Cumberland University have been moved from the campus of Union University to Jackson Christian School. The high school is located just west of Union's campus down Country Club Lane. The games will be broadcast as usual on 97.7 FM with live audio via the internet available at uu.edu/athletics/info/live/ and at gracebroadcasting.com.
On Thursday, Union was schedule to host Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) for women's and men's basketball games. Then Friday and Saturday, the Union baseball team was scheduled to play double-headers versus Georgetown (Ky.) and Clark (Iowa).
No make-up dates have been set for these games at this point.
