JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/16/2008 - The Union University women’s soccer team continues to bring in players for the 2008 season with the newest addition, Cara Stinson, signing this week. Stinson will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will be majoring in Physical Therapy.
Stinson, a 5-foot-3 defender, prepped at Bay High School where she played four seasons of soccer. She helped lead her high school team to two Bay County Titles and three district titles from 2005 through 2008. Stinson also played for the Bay United Sharks were region champions in 2003, President's Cup and Director's Cub Champions in 2004, and Florida State Cup Final 16 in 2006. Stinson earned numerous honors during her soccer career, including being named a four-time All-County player, and a three-time Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
“Cara is a solid defender with great speed”, says Union head coach Brandon Boylan. “She likes to get involved with the attack. We expect a lot of good things from Cara in her four years at Union.
Off the field, Stinson was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Altha Theta (Math Club), Beta Club, Student Government, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Habitat for Humanity.
