Union Volleyball Signs Missouri Standout

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/17/2008 - The Union University volleyball team has signed Lindsey Wilson for the 2008 season. Wilson hails from Catron, Missouri, and will enter Union this fall as a freshman.

Wilson, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter, prepped at Gideon High School where she played volleyball and softball. She helped lead her volleyball team to district titles in 2006, 2007, and 2008. Wilson's team also claimed conference tournament championships from 2006-2008. Wilson earned numerous volleyball honors during her career. She was named All-State, All-District three times, All-Conference three times, All-Region twice, and was selected to the area All-Star team three times. Wilson was also named the Tri-County Conference Player of the Year and Gideon’s Female Athlete of the Year as a junior. In softball, Wilson was named to the All-Conference team three times.

Wilson was successful in academics as well, serving as National Honor Society President, Student Council Vice President, Senior Class Vice President, and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Wilson is the daughter of Glen and Libby Wilson.
