Union baseball adds Halls native to roster

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/18/2008 - The Union University baseball program has signed Cody Dew of Halls, Tennessee. Dew will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in Biology.

Dew, a 6-foot-1, 150 lb. pitcher, prepped at Halls High School where he played four seasons of baseball for Coach Mike Blackwood as a pitcher and second baseman. He also played four seasons of football for Coach Chris Hurt as a wide receiver and defensive back. Dew was named All-Tournament and All-District in baseball as a junior and senior. In football, he was named FOP Player of the Year as a senior.

Off the field, Dew was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, FFA, and was selected Most Likely to Succeed.

Dew is the son of Brian and Shannon Dew of Halls.
