Union volleyball falls to TranSouth rival Lyon 3-2

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/19/2008 - The Lady Bulldogs volleyball team fell 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 19-25, 12-15) in a hard fought match against TranSouth Conference rival Lyon (Ark.) College. Union falls to 8-3 now and 4-1 in the TranSouth Conference, while Lyon is now 3-5, with a 1-3 league record.

Union was led on the night by senior Emilie Ogas with 10 kills and sophomore Heather Lieberman, who also posted 10 kills. Katie Adams led the Lady Bulldogs with 34 assists, while CJ Neathamer added 21 digs.

Lyon was led in kills by Katie Beineke with 18 on the night and Julie Arnold, who added 45 assists.

The Lady Bulldogs will be on the road for their next matchup versus the Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University on Tuesday, September 23. The match will begin at 7:00 pm in Henderson, Tenn.
