JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/24/2008 - The Union University volleyball team posted two victories on Friday in the Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design (SCAD) Invitational. In the early game, Union defeated St. Thomas (Fla.) University 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-18, 25-14). In their second match of the day, the Union Lady Bulldogs topped the University of St. Francis (Ind.) 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-14).
With the two wins, Union is now 20-5 on the season.
Union was led by Amanda Coyle with 15 kills in the first match. Followed by Anna Sims and Emilie Ogas with 10 kills each. Katie Adams posted 38 assists, while Sims led with seven blocks.
Match two saw Ogas post 10 kills to lead Union, while Coyle added eight kills. Adams recorded 28 assists and Young led with four blocks.
Union will play two more matches on Saturday, starting with Warner Southern (Fla.) College at 9:30 am and then Webber International (Fla.) University at 1:30 pm.
