JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/17/2009 - The No. 5 ranked Union University Bulldog had their six-game winning streak snapped with a loss to Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University, 69-66. The win for Freed-Hardeman is their sixth-straight.

Union (14-4, 4-1) started the game with a 16-6 run to take their first of three 10-point leads in the first half. Union maintained the lead for all but 54 seconds in the first half. The Lions of Freed-Hardeman (13-6, 5-1) used a three pointer from Logan Greer to take a 31-30 lead, their first of the game. In the second half, Freed-Hardeman maintained momentum as they pushed their lead to as many as seven points, 57-50 with 6:49 left to play. Union then stormed back with an 8-0 run to take a 58-57 lead with 4:24 left in the game. The Lions quickly regained the lead that they would not give up. Union had a chance with 11 seconds left following a Zach Frey missed free throw. Union had won two of their last three games on shots by Brian Lake in the final seconds. Freed-Hardeman shot just 39-percent from the field, 33-percent (8-24) from behind the arc, and 56-percent (9-16) from the free throw line.
