JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/14/2009 - The No. 5 ranked Union University Bulldogs held off a fierce Lambuth (Tenn.) University second half rally to win 90-84. The win for Union (21-4) was a season-best seventh in a row. It was also the first home game for the Bulldogs since January 19.
Union led by 21 points mid-way through the second half. However, the visiting Eagles of Lambuth took advantage of Union’s cold shooting down the stretch to pull within two points, 83-81 with 58 seconds left. Banhoro completed his three-point play to make it a four-point possession for Union, pushing their lead back to 87-81. Union sank three-of-four free throws in the final 30 seconds, while Lambuth’s Antawn Coby sank a three pointer late to set the final at 90-84.
