JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/1/2009 - The Union University Bulldogs completed the regular season Friday with a 32-17 overall record and a 10-10 record in TranSouth play, after completing the 6-1 win of Thursday's rain-postponed game Friday. The Bulldogs then won the final game of the series 9-4. After the pair of losses, the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) After the over-night rain delay, the Bulldogs and the Trojans picked the second game of their series back up on Friday, with the Bulldogs holding a 3-0 lead. Kevin Kirksey took the mound for the Bulldogs, and gave up only one run on two hits to preserve the win for Union. The Bulldog bats put up three more runs in the game giving Union 6-1 win.

The final game of the series began after the four Bulldog seniors, Joe Gahan, Danny Alberty, Carl Harken, and Allen Williams, were honored during Senior Day. David Maristany added a hit for the Bulldogs and two RBI, and Cole McAdams and Josh Jones each added a hit for Union in the game.

After the Bulldog's pair of wins this weekend, they take the fifth seed in the conference standings, going into the TranSouth Conference Tournament, May 4-7, to be held at Union's Fesmire Field.
