JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/5/2009 - The Union University men’s and women’s soccer programs spent a few days late in the spring semester teaching local middle school soccer players the fundamentals of the game. Several of the Union players and coaches performed a clinic at Humboldt Middle School as they help build a strong foundation for the young program.

Union men’s head coach Clovis Simas and women’s assistant coach Isaac Brooks, along with several players, taught fundamentals of the game. The clinic included drills that focused on passing, dribbling and shooting that helped the Humboldt Middle School as they worked to start a soccer program.

“We had a very good group of kids that were motivated and willing to learn from us,” said Simas.

The Union programs enjoy these kinds of opportunities to help serve the area. The players and coaches invite other middle school and high school programs to call Union to set up clinics with their teams.
