Jackson, Tenn. - 1/2/2003 - Adrian Yeung, a senior at Union University, has been invited to the 2003 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine. This tryout will be in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 11-14. Yeung will have an opportunity to display his abilities for scouts in the United States professional soccer league in hopes of earning a spot in the MLS.
Yeung is from British Columbia, Canada and has played each of his four seasons for the Bulldogs. During his senior season, Yeung served as a tri-captain for Union and was named to the TranSouth All-Conference team for the third straight season. He also was named all-region and NAIA All-American. On the season, Yeung tallied 13 goals and 12 assists. He scored a team high six game winning goals. He helped lead the Bulldogs to their third straight conference tournament, the NCCAA MidEast Region Championship, and their third NCCAA National Tournament appearance in four years.
Union ended its fifth season of varsity competition with a seventh place finished in the NCCAA National Tournament. The Bulldogs finished with a 13-10-1 overall record. During Yeung’s four seasons with the Bulldogs, Union went 55-33-1. Yeung has no doubt made a strong impact on Union’s up and coming program.
