JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/6/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University softball team saw their seven game winning streak come to an end as they dropped two games on Saturday. Union lost 8-6 to William Woods (Mo.) University and then fell 6-2 to Columbia (Mo.) College. Union is now 10-4 on the season after sweeping the same two teams on Friday.
In the first game, Union led 4-1 and 6-3, before giving up five runs in the sixth inning to drop the game. Keaton Kirk (3-1) took the loss allowing seven runs, five earned in 5.2 innings of work. Kirk did have eight strikeouts. Union managed 13 hits, but left nine runners on base and committed two costly errors. Amber Hayes hit the game’s only homer with a three-run shot in the third.
