KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 3/23/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University Lady Bulldogs are ranked No. 17 in the NAIA rankings released on Tuesday. Union moved up from the receiving votes category in the preseason poll.
Union is 17-7 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs have a 4-0 record versus top 25 teams and a 6-3 record versus teams that are at least receiving votes.
The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a TranSouth Conference sweep of then No. 8 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) last Friday. Union has won six in a row.
Union also boasted the TranSouth Conference player and pitcher of the week for this past week. Amber Hayes and Brooke Thomas earned the two awards respectively.
Union plays Mid-Continent (Ky.) on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at home.
