Union baseball, golf teams start play in national tournaments

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/17/2010 - JACKSON, Tenn. - As the semester winds down, two sports teams at Union (Tenn.) University continue play in their outstanding seasons. The Union baseball and men's golf teams will begin play in their respective NAIA National Tournament on Tuesday, May 18. Options for following the action live can be found at the tournament links below.

The baseball team is ranked No. 18 in the NAIA and received an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. Union (41-15) is a No. 2 seed in the Oklahoma City tournament and will play their first game on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. (NAIA Baseball National Tournament Opening Round).

The men's golf team is ranked No. 30 and received the TranSouth's automatic bid by winning the 2010 TranSouth Golf Championship. Union's tee-time will be the first of the day as Union, Oklahoma City and California Baptist start at 7:00 a.m. The NAIA Men's Golf National Tournament is being played at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., the home of the PGA's John Deere Classic (NAIA Men's Golf National Championship).
