Union Places Two Bulldogs on the TranSouth Post Season Honors List

Jackson, Tenn. - 3/13/2003 - The Union University Bulldogs put two players on the 2003 TranSouth Conference postseason honors list. Sophomore guard Bruno Martinessi was named second team All-TranSouth while freshman guard Matt Trammell earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. Union finished the regular season 17-14 overall and 5-9 in conference play. The Bulldogs open the TranSouth Conference Tournament at top seeded Lee University tonight at 6:00 p.m. central time.

Martinessi, a 6-7 guard from Paraguay, led the Bulldogs with 6.1 rebounds per game and was second on the team in points averaging 11.8 per game. He also tallied 3.5 assists per game. Martinessi earns the second team All-TranSouth honor for the second consecutive season.

Trammell, a 6-6 guard from New Market, Maryland, averaged 5.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game coming off the bench for the Bulldogs. He was tied for the team lead with a .405 (34-84) three-point percentage.
