JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/21/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Central Baptist (Ark.) College. Union also posted their sixth shutout in their seven games on the season. Central Baptist dropped to 5-3 on the season.
Union led 1-0 at the half on a goal from Diego Santos, assisted by Kemal Gogic, in the seventh minute of play. Union added two late goals. Sutton Shults scored with two minutes left to play, assisted by Taylor Mayo. Dejan Kostic scored on a penalty kick in the final minute to set the score at 3-0.
Union out-shot Central Baptist 14-7 including 8-3 in shots on goal. James Landham recorded three saves in goal, while Chance Murphy of Central Baptist recorded five saves.
Up next for Union will be a home match versus Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
