Union's Pepper Named Co-Pitcher of the Week

Jackson, Tenn. - 4/14/2003 - Garrett Pepper, a freshman from Memphis, Tennessee, has been named the TranSouth Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week. He earned a 2-1 win over No. 10 Spalding, a 2002 NAIA World Series participant. Pepper helped Union to a 3-2 week as they improved to 27-15 on the year.

Pepper pitched a nine inning complete game allowing just one run on five hits. He struck out 10 batters and walked none. Pepper leads Union with a 2.08 ERA. Pepper has a record of 4-1 with one save in nine appearances and 34 innings pitched. Pepper also leads Union with a .400 batting average (36-90) and has 23 RBI.

He played his high school baseball at Evangelical Christian School in Memphis where he was an All-State pitcher as a senior.
