In the first game, Union scored first with a run in the first inning on a Bryan Hill RBI single, driving in Doug Joyce. The two offenses highlighted the next two innings as both teams recorded two runs each in the second and four runs each in the third. Danny Grimm recorded an RBI single in the second, while RBI hits by Cole McAdams, Brett Pawlen and RJ Rayborn produced the four runs for Union in the third. Missouri Baptist (3-3) tied the game in the top of the fifth inning. The score was tied 7-7 as Union came to bat in the bottom of the seven, the last scheduled inning of play. Union threatened, but had the winning run thrown out at home to end the inning. After neither team scored in the eighth, Union once again had runners in the bottom of the ninth. With two runners on base, Kevin Kirksey singled on the infield to move the winning run to third. However, a throwing error allowed Oscar Depablos to score the winning run from third. Cody Dew for Union entered the game in the top of the six in relief of Matt Fike and starter Derek Copley. Dew (1-0) tossed the final four innings, allowing just one hit while striking out three.

In the second game, Union trailed 1-0 going into the bottom of the second. The Bulldogs scored one run in each the second, third and fourth innings to lead 3-1.
