Lindsey Wilson struck first with two runs in the first inning, one unearned. The Blue Raiders then added six runs in the top of the second to lead 8-0. Lindsey Wilson recorded two hits in the first and five more in the second to surround the two Union errors.
Union added a run in the bottom of the second to get on the board. An RBI single from Kevin Kirksey drove in Bryan Hill, who singled to lead off the inning. Lindsey Wilson added a run in the third and another in the eighth to lead 10-1. Union scored in the bottom of the eighth when RJ Rayborn drove in Martin Key on a single.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Union rallied with mostly reserves in the batting order. A hit by Tim Anderson, four Lindsey Wilson walks and a sacrifice fly from Rayborn helped Union tally three runs in the frame. But the deficit was too much as the Bulldogs fell 10-5
