JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/20/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team has signed Eliza Clark of Paducah, Ky. Clark will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in pre-physical therapy as she works toward becoming a physical therapist.
Union head coach Brandon Boylan says, “Elizabeth is a sharp kid who comes from a great family. We expect her to compete as a player who will help in the attacking third. She loves the one-on-one opportunities and we think she will add a lot to our attack next season. We are pleased Elizabeth has chosen Union to continue her academic and athletic endeavors.”
Clark, a 5-foot forward, prepped at Paducah Tilghman (Ky.) High School where she played soccer and ran track. In soccer, she was a three-time first team academic all-state, three times named first team all-region and was twice named offensive MVP. She was also named all-district and team captain. Clark scored 61 career goals and added 34 career assists.
Off the field, Clark was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society and FCA. She was also the Spanish Club vice president and leader of the Recycling Club.
Clark is the daughter of Stephen and Gerry Clark and is a member of Paducah First Baptist Church.
