Union baseball signs Brighton’s Embry

JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/14/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University baseball team has signed Will Embry of Burlison, Tenn. Embry will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in mechanical engineering.

Embry, a 6-foot-3 pitcher, comes to Union after graduating from Brighton (Tenn.) High School. While at Brighton, he played two seasons of baseball. He was named all-district, all-district tournament and was an Academic All-Star. In a game his senior year, Embry recorded 10 consecutive strikeouts on the mound. Embry spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Tipton Rosemark Academy where he played baseball and football.

Off the field, he was a member of the National Honor Society, student council and Mu Alpla Theta.

Embry is the son of Randy and Mary Jane Embry and is a member of Randolph United Methodist Church.
