Union women's soccer falls 5-0 at Austin Peay

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/30/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University women's soccer team dropped their first match of the season 5-0 at Austin Peay State (Tenn.) University. Union is now 1-1 on the season, while Austin Peay improved to 3-0.

Austin Peay took control early in the match with their first goal coming in the 17th minute by Tatiana Ariza. Tatiana Ariza scored the next goal just 10 minutes later to put her team up 2-0. In the 38th minute, Natalia Ariza scored followed by the third goal of the night for Tatiana Ariza. Austin Peay led 4-0 at the half. The Lady Govs added a fifth goal right out of halftime by Emily Perkins in the 46th minute.

Union was outshot in the match 24-2, posting just one shot in each half. Emily Warren recorded 10 saves in the match as she played all 90 minutes in net. Mackenzie Ladd recorded the shutout with one save in her 90 minutes in goal.

Up next for Union will be another road match on Saturday, September 3 at Faulkner (Ala.).
