JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/1/2011 - Union (Tenn.) University senior James Landham has been named the TranSouth Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending August 25, 2011.
Landham, a 6-foot-2 goalkeeper from Hendersonville, Tenn. earned the award for his efforts in a 1-0 loss at No. 7 Southern Polytechnic State (Ga.) last week. Landham recorded seven saves and allowed just one goal to a team that averaged more than twice that per game a year ago.
Up next for Union men’s soccer will be the Union Soccer Classic on September 2-3. Union will host three teams including John Brown (Ark.), Notre Dame (Ohio) and Reinhardt (Ga.). Union will face Reinhardt on Friday at 7 p.m. and then will play Notre Dame on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Matches will also be played each day at 5:00 p.m.
