Union Soccer Signs Third Player This Week

Jackson, Tenn. - 5/16/2003 - Union University soccer coach, Dr. Darin White has been busy as he has added his third player this week. Mark Forrest from Coatbridge, Scotland is the latest player to join the 2003 Bulldog roster. He will enter Union as a freshman this coming fall.

Forrest, at 6-foot-2, 185 lb, has played as some of the highest levels of soccer in Scotland. He was chosen to play for the Under-16 Scotland Schoolboy Squad, Scotland’s national team. Forrest trained at the Glasgow Rangers Youth Academy as he played his club team soccer with Coventry City. After he turned 16, Forrest signed a contract with the national team. As a member of the Gairdoch United, he was named the player of the year. At the age of 19, he joined his current club team, the Glenavon Thistle, and has also received player of the year honors. Forrest played his high school soccer at St. Margaret's High School.
