JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/15/2011 - The Union University baseball team is ranked No. 14 in the NAIA Baseball Preseason poll released Tuesday. In addition, Union has been selected second in the TranSouth Baseball Preseason poll also released Tuesday.
Union is coming off a TranSouth Tournament Title this past May. Union has won two TranSouth Tournament titles in the past three years, while also advancing to three straight NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Rounds.
Union returns their top two starting pitchers from last season, along with three infield starters and all three outfield starters. Included in those returning starters is senior catcher Doug Joyce. Joyce was recently named as an NAIA Preseason All-American.
