JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/12/2011 - Union University senior Lavanda Ross passed 1,500 points for her career. The Jackson, Tenn. native currently has 1,586 career points in 121 games. She reached the mark with a 26 point effort in Union’s win over Oklahoma Baptist University November 25.
Ross, a 5-foot-8 guard and former North Side High School standout leads Union this season with 19.7 points per game. She has averaged at least 10 points per game in each season of her career, with this season being her best mark. Ross is also averaging five rebounds and three assists per game over her career. She is shooting 58 percent from the field in her career, including 43 percent (76-177) from 3-point range.
Ross has been named to the NAIA All-American team twice in her career and has also been a two-time all-conference player. In 2009, she was named the TranSouth Freshman of the Year and was named to the all-freshman team.
