Jackson, Tenn. - 7/14/2003 - Union University has signed Clint Arthur of Munford, Tennessee to play baseball for the Bulldogs. Arthur joins fellow Munford High School star, Zach Lowery, who signed with Union earlier this summer. Arthur will be a freshman at Union this coming fall.
Arthur, a 6-foot, 175 lb right hander, played his high school baseball at Munford High School. He helped lead his team to the district, region, and sub-state championships in 2002 and 2003. Munford also finished runner-up in the state tournament during the same time period. Arthur’s combined record from his junior and senior seasons was 20-4 with 236 strikeouts. He compiled a 0.76 ERA as a junior and a 1.47 ERA as a senior. In addition to pitching for Munford, Arthur also spent time as an outfielder where he hit .310 as a junior and .389 as a senior.
During his baseball career, Arthur received numerous post season honors including three All-District awards, two All-Region awards, two All-State awards, and was nominated for the ‘Best of Preps’ in each his junior and senior seasons.
In the classroom, Arthur graduated with honors with a 3.6 GPA and was nominated for the Honor Society each of his four years of high school.
