Union Signs Crystal Eason for 2004-05 Season

Jackson, Tenn. - 9/3/2003 - Crystal Eason of Scotts Hill, Tennessee has signed to play her college basketball for the Union University Lady Bulldogs. Eason is currently a senior at Scotts Hill High School where she has been a Miss Basketball Finalist as a sophomore and junior.

Eason, a 5-foot-8 guard, has been named District MVP, District Tournament MVP, All-Region, All-West Tennessee, and All-State in each of the past three seasons. She has accumulated a career total of 2,227 points in her high school career dating back to the eighth grade. Eason also set the Scotts Hill record for points in a game with 45 in a game during her sophomore season.

Union’s head coach Mark Campbell says, “We try to sign the best players in west Tennessee every year. She is not only one of the best on the court, she is equally impressive off the court as well.” Eason is tops in her class with a 4.0 GPA. Coach Campbell adds, “Crystal also comes from a great family and what more could you ask for.”

The Lady Bulldogs will open the 2003-04 season on Friday, October 31 in the Lady Bulldog Classic. Union will play Barber-Scotia at 6:00 p.m.
