Haycraft Sets New Union Stolen Base Record

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/6/2004 - Holly Haycraft of Dyersburg, Tennessee has set a new mark for career stolen bases at Union University midway through her sophomore season. To this point in her sophomore season, Haycraft has a total of 73 career steals in 78 attempts. As a freshman, she set a Union season record with her 44 stolen bases in 48 attempts.

Haycraft, a 5-foot-6 outfielder, played her high school softball at Dyersburg High School where she played softball, soccer, and basketball. As a senior at Dyersburg, she hit .875 with a school record 75 stolen bases. Thus far in her sophomore season at Union, Haycraft is third on the team in hitting with a .339 batting average. She leads the team with a .451 on-base percentage, 33 runs, 29 stolen bases, and two triples. She also has tallied 37 hits, four doubles, and nine RBI. Defensively, Haycraft is has a .952 fielding percentage with two assists and 38 putouts in 42 chances.
