JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/5/2004 - The fourth ranked Union Lady Bulldogs earned their second win straight win to open the season as the defeated Loyola University-New Orleans 102-75. Union senior Stephanie Clark posted as career high 20 rebounds to go with her game high 28 points to lead Union. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-0 on the year, while Loyola falls to 1-2.
Union used great shooting in the first half to jump out to a 57-37 lead at halftime. Union shot 60% from the field including 54% (7-13) from behind the arc. For the game, Union shot 60% from the field and 40% (11-27) from three point range.
The Lady Bulldogs were led by Clark's 28 points and 20 rebounds. This marked her second double-double of the season. Merideth Richardson scored 16 points, 14 in the first half, on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc. Tiffany Fisher scored 12 and Paola Ferrari added 11 for the Lady Bulldogs.
Loyola was led by Kiely Schork with 23 points, including 7-of-18 from three point range. Joelle Bordelon added 18 points while Marjorie Bilinski tallied 12 for the Wolfpack.
Up next for Union will be one of their many matchups with an NAIA Top 10 opponent. On Tuesday, Nov. 9, Union will host No. 7 North Georgia College at 4:00 pm at Union.
