JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/3/2005 - The Union University Baseball team won their sixth straight game and eighth in the past nine games as they topped the Lambuth Eagles 4-0 on Thursday at Union. Union improved to 10-7 on the season while Lambuth fell to 5-12.
In their past eight wins, Union has allowed just 2.3 runs per game with two shutouts. Included in that streak is a 9-8 win. Union's pitching was strong again today as Munford native Clint Arthur improved to 4-1 on the season as he tossed 8.0 innings of shutout baseball allowing just five hits. Freshman Humboldt native James Brasfield toss a scoreless ninth inning for Union.
On the offensive side, Union tallied seven hits with freshman catcher Elvis Sosa leading the way with a 2-for-4 day. Sixth other Bulldogs tallied one hit apeice with four different Bulldogs recording an RBI.
