JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/14/2005 - Jessica Graves, of Humboldt, Tennessee, has signed to play her college basketball for the defending NAIA National Champion, Union University Lady Bulldogs. Graves will graduate from Humboldt High School this May and will enter Union in the fall, majoring in Sports Medicine.
Graves, a 5-foot-4 point guard, has played four years of basketball at Humboldt High School. Last season, she averaged 18 points and six assists per game. Graves received numerous postseason honors during her time at Humboldt including All-West Tennessee, All-District, and All-Region as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She also was named a Tennessee All-Star as a senior.
Union’s head coach Mark Campbell is very excited to have Graves join the Union basketball program. “Jessica is a true point guard that will step in and contribute immediately to help fill the void of NAIA Hustle Award winner Monica Elliot.” Campbell goes on to say, “She is the best ball handler I’ve seen in this area since I’ve been coaching here. Jessica can shoot the three-pointer with the best and will make all of her teammates better.”
